About The Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for building the next generation of riders for the company, supporting the sales, market share and customer acquisition goals. This leader works to maintain brand health, delivery of strategic and tactical marketing campaigns, digital work, social, public relations, and events for both motorcycles, Parts, Accessories & Merchandise, After-Sales and company's Financial Services. The Marketing Manager is an accomplished collaborator and communicates effectively at all levels to influence and impact desired outcomes. This position reports to the Emerging Markets Marketing Manager and will lead a team in China, working closely with the Managing Director, China and International Marketing Team to deliver the business in China.

Key Deliverable

Marketing Programs and Promotions

  • Lead and develop a Marketing Team consisting of 6 people
  • Responsible for successful product launches and campaigns that maximize coverage, create demand, and drive market share with clear metrics set and measured throughout all activity
  • Responsible for strengthening the brand and leading the development of the marketing strategy for China
  • Lead development of retail promotional materials and the development of retail marketing support
  • Drive demand for the products and services of the brand meeting key performance indicators and return on investment expectations
  • Lead creation of pieces for production and coordinate approval process with internal and external stakeholders
  • Draft, route and coordinate distribution of appropriate dealer communications to support marketing materials and initiatives
  • Lead various projects relative to marketing support materials, quality plan, research projects and budgets
  • Manage Dealer Marketing initiatives including Lead Management
  • Collaborate across international and local marketing teams to achieve common goals, balancing corporate goals with market needs
  • Lead and monitor third-party agency partner performance ensuring they deliver strong returns for the business

Events

  • Oversee plan and execution of an event strategy enabling effective customer outreach including but not limited to motorcycle shows, exhibitions, dealer demo events, HOG events and others
  • Continually monitor and provide feedback on all events to improve quality and processes on a regular basis
  • Oversee coordination activities for rallies and events including site selection, communication, promotion, marketing, media, registration, activities, entertainment, etc.

Rider Services

  • Lead Rider Services function and initiatives to include coordination and expansion of Riding Training, Rentals and Tours

Project Management and Coordination

  • Plan, monitor and accomplish goals of specific project requirements. Develop and utilize methods of tracking and monitoring progress to plan for projects

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience, to include experience in leading marketing initiatives, promotions and events
  • Ability to identify and drive proactive work that aligns overall corporate vision and respective market goals while considering the most effective means of addressing dealer needs
  • Excellent people management skills with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high performing team
  • Understanding of how an independent retailer network works is a strong asset
  • Experience leading consumer brands in advertising, promotions, emerging media, electronic media, social, CRM, collateral and photography and product positioning
  • Demonstrated ability to meaningfully challenge status quo and bring change to mature organizations
  • Experience working in a matrix organization with global brand marketing, either at agency or directly (strongly preferred)
  • Builds trust through the environment they create with cross-functional teams & dealers
  • Travel is required (about 30%)
