Job Description

Main missions

  • Performing as a true business partner to SOA President, SOA members
  • Being the interlocutor and facilitator of the Region SVP Finance inside the SOA
  • Managing the external growth process in close relationship with SOA President and Region SVP Finance
  • Leading due diligences implementation in agreement with Region, determining potential price adjustments and executing legal documentations under Region validation
  • Ensuring funding availability and funds flow of acquisition
  • Ensuring proper integration within Sonepar (e.g. finance systems, accounting rules and processes)
  • Leading transformation of the Finance function in the SOA to support overall SOA strategic goals and improve the efficiency and integrity of the financial teams, processes, systems
  • Playing a key role in risk identification and management and ensuring the respect of an adequate level of internal controls
  • Driving compliance enhancement to:
    • Local legal requirements (legal, corporate governance…)
    • Local tax requirements
    • Group requirements (financial reporting and in other area of their responsibility…)
    • And more generally to reflect business evolutions and preserve and protect efficiently Sonepar Group assets, ownership and directors by any mean: amendment of by-laws, shareholders agreement, introducing resolutions, and power of attorneys in agreement with Region SVP
  • Acting as a coordinator for treasury-financing programs implementation, controlling the level of liquidity resources generated by the Opcos and the optimization of cash circulation within the following investments (CAPEX) made in countries and organizing a proper commitment validation process and projects follow-up
  • Ensuring that real estate and property management are under control and that insurance programs are efficiently covering and protecting all Opcos assets and potential risks and liabilities by promoting group insurance programs
  • Sharing best practices and encouraging initiatives regarding working capital
  • Managing the financial human resources of the SOA by notably recruiting, developing, coaching and managing his/her team and CFOs, in coordination with the SOA President and Region SVP Finance


In the initial 12-18 months, the role will focus on the following:

  • Establish an appropriate governance structure for the SOA
  • Create a Shared Service Centre
  • Implement a one ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics) 
  • Improve on the Compliance
  • Actively involved in Mergers & Acquisitions



  • Abundant M&A experience as 50% of business growth for the past few years came from acquisitions
  • Has ERP implementation
  • Strong compliance mindset
  • Shared Service Centre build-up experience will be an asset
  • Mature and has the ability and gravitas to work in a complex environment; able to deal with colleagues internationally as well as liaise with local Chinese
  • Strong adaptation
  • Able to communicate openly and to discuss issues
  • Able to make decisions with a long-term view
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment
  • A strategic thinker, able to set the vision for the whole finance team and will not hesitate to roll up the sleeves to get things done
  • Capability to drive changes and ensure actions are taken across divisions
  • Open to all nationalities but needs to know China
  • Speak and write English and have the ability to deal with senior-level executives
  • Ideally is mobile and willing to relocate in a few years
